The Scrib Tree in Douglas near Lanark, is a delightful country emporium nestled in the heart of the Lanarkshire village of Douglas. Selling quality farm produce, fine coffee, perfect cakes and beautiful gifts they aim to offer a distinctive and exciting retail experience from the moment you arrive. The Scrib Tree offers a large range of quality foods and handcrafted gifts or enjoy hand roasted, artisan coffee and cake by the stove and provides refuge and refreshment all year round.
The Hirsel Craft Centre is based on the beautiful Hirsel Estate in the village of Coldstream, Scottish Borders. There are a number of artisan craft units at the Homestead, including a potter, glass worker, and a textile worker, along with two excellent shops selling a variety of locally produced arts and crafts – providing a wonderful opportunity for buying that special Christmas Present with a difference.
While at the Hirsel Estate why not enjoy the spectacular Borders countryside by taking one of the way marked walks. Afterwards, you can also enjoy much needed refreshment at The Hirsel Cottage tearoom.
There is also a museum which provides some historical background and show how people lived and worked at the Hirsel in the past, as well as discovering how different departments and operations affected each other, and the natural history of the Estate as a whole.
